MV Bailey

Adoption Status: ADOPTED
Age: 2016 (estimated)
Gender: Mare
Mesa Verde National Park

MV Bailey is a stunning buckskin mare, and one of the loveliest movers we’ve seen come out of the park. Bailey was started on some of her basic skills by Stefanie Skidmore, but still needed more time and attention to meaningfully connect with people. Bailey was fortunate to be taken under the wing of a wonderful young trainer who is naturally gifted in connecting with animals. Bailey is thriving in her care and living her best life in SW Colorado.

MV Arboles

Adoption Status: ADOPTED
Age: 2018 (estimated)
Gender: Mare
Mesa Verde National Park

MV Arboles is a beautiful buckskin mare that is about as sweet as they come. She was gathered from Mesa Verde National Park in fall 2022, and originally gentled and started by Dr. Patricia Barlow-Irick of Mustang Camp. Arboles had a spunky perlino colt (MV Rune – domestic born) in April 2023. She is also the dam of MV Rico, adopted earlier this year. Arboles has been adopted and now enjoys the green pastures of her new Kentucky home.

MV Juniper

Adoption Status: AVAILABLE NOW!!
Age: 2019 (estimated)
Gender: Mare
Mesa Verde National Park
Despite her imperfect conformation due to the obvious dip in her back, which she has had from birth, MV Juniper is a favorite with everyone who meets her! She is an incredibly loving mare with a heart of gold to match her beautiful buckskin color. Juniper was originally gentled and started by Dr. Patricia Barlow-Irick at Mustang Camp. She would be an excellent companion horse, therapy horse, and has been cleared for light riding by our chiropractor and DVM. Juniper is currently in training with NMACO Approved Trainer, Michele Bell for driving and light riding. She had a cute filly in July (MV Elm – who is adopted) and Wicca will be available for adoption once Elm is weaned in the spring. Wherever this mare lands, she will be a cherished addition! APPLY NOW to adopt her!

MV Elm

Adoption Status: ADOPTED
Age: 2023
Gender: Filly
Domestic Born
MV Elm is the foal of MV Juniper and she was born domestically in July 2023. Elm’s first few weeks of life were rough, as she had to be supplemented with bottle-feeding until her dam’s milk supply caught up. She is now a healthy, curious, and super-friendly filly who is growing by leaps and bounds. MV Elm has been adopted by one of our local volunteers who helped care for her during the first weeks of her life.

MV Brave

Adoption Status: AVAILABLE — APPLY NOW!!
Age: 2021 (estimated)
Gender: Gelding
Mesa Verde National Park
MV Brave is a handsome buckskin gelding with streaks of white, shooting through his mane. Brave was initially gentled by NMACO Approved Trainer, Monique Wylde Williams; and he currently resides with NMACO Approved Trainer, George Brauneis’ mustang herd at Eagles & Wild Horses Ranch in Eckert, CO. We suspect that Brave was orphaned as a youngster and during the course of his training, it became clear that Brave needed more time in a herd to learn to be a horse before being asked to connect with people. George graciously welcomed him into his program, where he is feeling more grounded since being reunited with his friend from his days in the Park, MV Blanca. We would love to see MV Brave & MV Blanca adopted as a pair; and we will consult with George for an assessment of any adoption requests as a single.  Brave maybe coming back to Durango soon. APPLY NOW to adopt this Dreamhorse!

MV Blanca

Adoption Status: AVAILABLE — APPLY NOW!!
Age: 2021 (estimated)
Gender: Mare
Mesa Verde National Park
MV Blanca was gentled and started by Stefanie Skidmore. She is just a doll! One of the famous Mesa Verde perlinos, we have photos of her in the wild, initially seen with MV Buckle & MV BayBird and then later accompanying MV Brave. MV Blanca was born with a distinctive fold in her left ear. We can only imagine how fun the view between those ears will one day be from the saddle! Blanca is a very sweet and loving young mare. After she completed her training, she traveled across Colorado, tasked with the important work of assisting MV Brave in his adjustment to domestic life at Eagles & Wild Horses Ranch. The move has also benefitted Blanca as she is still growing and the new-found space has been wonderful for her physical development. We would love to see MV Brave & MV Blanca adopted as a pair; and we will consult with NMACO Approved Trainer, George Brauneis for an assessment of any adoption requests as a single. She may also be in Durango soon with Brave, and both of them appear to prefer people to horses.  Blanca is an old soul and will be that special horse for someone. Will it be YOU?

MV Rune

He is going to grow up to be a stunning horse. Rune has been adopted by NMACO Approved Trainer, Monique Wylde Williams and hopes to join his perlino half brothers, Merlin & Marvel (different owner) as NMACO Mesa Verde Mustang Ambassadors.
